I am doing an experiment to see how much more extra traffic I can get to my site by writing a bit about the site in other languages. You would be surprised by how often this site is viewed in places other than North America. In fact, around 50% of the people who read this blog are from countries whose primary language is not English. Everyone knows that there are many sites out there that talk about making money online. Some of them are well done, other are not as well done. The point is that making money online starts with having quality content. Quality content is about having unique information that will make readers want to keep coming back to your site each time it is updated. It will eventually bring a mass flow of readers to your site every day. That is when you can start focusing on making money. So far I have 47 Agloco referrals, with 25 extended referrals just this month. Agloco is expected to launch in April, and there is expected to be a large profit to be made from it.

My Alexa rank has gone up from 785,617 a month ago on February 21st to 693,868 as of today. Moving up by 100, 000 spots in one month is quite an improvement, and I am hoping that I can get within the top 1,000 spots soon. For now, I am hoping to keep moving up by 50-100,000 spots per month and gain higher and higher popularity. Currently there are 80,000 sites linking in to Money Making Quest.

A site that has been indispensible throughout the creation of my blog has been BlogExplosion. For the past 3 months, they have sent me valuable traffic every single day. What's more is that they have games where you can earn more points, a referral system and something called the "Battle of the Blogs." This is where two blogs wager a bet, say 25 points each and other people look at both of the blogs and vote on it. Experiment with pictures

A couple of posts back, I put a picture of a relatively good looking female with a link to the CashCrate website to see if it would increase my referrals. It is a well-known fact that these types of pictures are clicked on more frequently than anything else, but overall the experiment was a failure. My referral rate did not increase with the addition of that picture, it stayed the same. I got 2 new referrals in the week since I added that picture. It made me realize two things:
1. A picture of a woman with a link to a completely unrelated site could be considered deceitful and the site that the user is sent to will most likely be closed immediately.
2. Despite getting many clicks on that picture, it is the overall quality of the site that the user visits that has the final say over whether or not they stay on the site, or even better sign up.

Alexa is a site that has its own traffic ranking system. It has graphs and even has the different rankings of your blog in different countries. I have been checking my traffic rank regularly and it has improved dramatically in the past month and a half. In the beginning, my traffic rank was over 3 000 000, which is terrible. It has been going down every couple of days and today it is at 785,617 overall. However, there are different rankings for different countries shown as well.

I have decided to join an affiliate program which is guaranteed to make much more cash than amazon, which did not work very well on my blog. I have added the "FriendFinder" text to my blog on the sidebar and below and I will see how many poeple actually visit the site. Other people's blogs have reported that these types of sites are their prime source of income from the blog, which far exceeds adsense. Under that note, I have decided to give it a try. Personally I know that pictures of beautiful women get clicked more than text ads, which are still effective. However, I would not want to compromise my posts by putting pictures or flashing designs on it. It IS a blog about making MONEY. And it will stay that way. Those pictures could be put on the sidebar as an experiment to see how much they will be clicked. Reports will be made on the amount of money that I have made on this program.

New additions to site

I have improved my site recently by reducing the amount of clutter which has been all over my site. I got rid of some of my lower-paying ads, such as the Amazon affiliate ads. They did not pay enough to be worth a large amount of space on my blog. I also replaced my Agloco banner with a Bart Simpson picture in the sidebar. I kept the Google search box at the top. I believe that the Google search box will be useful to all of my users.

One brand new addition to my site is the drop down menu on the right sidebar. The same one is shown below:

It is essential to learn basic HTML for successful blogging. I can't even begin to tell you how much learning HTML has helped me with my site. There are many sites that you can find under search engines that teach HTML very well. I highly encourage learning the basics. Here is one excellent site:

Cash Crate is yet another free program that allows you to make a lot of money online. You can get paid to do your normal shopping online or do surveys and sign up for many offers online. Most of the offers do not require you to spend anything, and if they do you can always cancel just before the deadline. It is very easy money, and they send checks to anywhere in North America for free. Their minimum amount of money is $5, which is really low if you think about it. It is the easiest money you can make on the internet. And for proof that they actually pay a minimum of $5, or for the really skeptical; proof that they pay at all is in the picture. Blogpatrol is a highly useful, free site that has been extremely useful in the recent past few days in determining where my visitors originated. After registering to Blogpatrol and adding your site, you are required to add a counter to your blog. The counter will display the number of visitors to your site since the addition of the counter. My counter has been recently added to the bottom of my right sidebar. You can also get a counter that has a "stealth" mode. This means that it will not be visible to the public. What is so useful about Blogpatrol is the statistics that it produces. It shows the number of visitors for each day and it has a bar graph of the percentage increase or decrease from every day of the previous week. It also displays the top 10 referrals to your site and detailed stats on your last 5 visitors. This is merely the tip of the icebergTo sum it up, this site includes:

The visitor's IP address
What site referred them
Their country of origin
What pages on your site they have visited
What type of computer they are using
Their screen resolution

This may sound like too much information, but I find it fascinating that there are people from exotic places such as South Africa and Egypt reading my blog. Most of my visitors are from the United States or Canada, however the other half are composed of people from all over the world.

The real GEM of the site is the way it records what is typed into the Search Engines to view your site. It records the exact phrase typed into the search engine and the engine used (ie. Yahoo, Google...) to find your site. When I copied and pasted the phrase that one person used for Google, my site was actually the 8th one down! That is a very high ranking for a site that is still relatively young.

Now that I know where my traffic is coming from, my top 2 referrers are 1) www.johnchow.com and 2) BlogExplosion. I recently exchanged links with John Chow's site (Which recieves about 4000 visitors daily) and have been seeing a huge increase in traffic since then.

Remember that I still wish to exchange links with other Bloggers who have a site with similar content. Links to other sites are my best source of traffic.

Recent work on blog

The past few days I have been working on cleaning up the appearance of ads and making them more integrated to the general theme of my site. I have also been working hard on creating a link exchange with other people. I would like to create a network of bloggers with reciprocal links on similar topics to mine. Let me know if you would like to exchange links with me. Reciprocal link sites will be placed in the sidebar of my page. I have also removed the Google Adsense from the Sidebar of my blog because it wasn't worth the few extra pennies for the amount it detracted from my site. I am much happier with the Adsense list being at the top of my page.

Another thing that I have added is a list of links to paid survey sites. I do not believe that many of the free survey sites actually work. The few that actually do pay a decent amount of money spam your email account and require you to build up a certain amount of points before you can cash them in. Paid surveys require a small payment before taking the survey, but they do pay a substantial amount of money. This is only recommended if you don't mind spending a bit of money beforehand. It could be considered an investment.

I have been looking at many different blogs recently and one common theme sticks out to me: clutter. These people will do anything to make money and it shows. The ads are mismatched with the layout and even worse.... they flash! If there is one thing people hate about advertising, it is flashing ads. Sure, they get your attention, but once they are clicked the visitor exits the site immediately. Or worse, they close the window. So please, please don't overdo it with the ads. Try to integrate them as nicely as possible into your site while stating that they are ads. Tricking people by renaming ads as links to other parts of your site will breed distrust with your readers and decrease your site's popularity.

As you can see, I have added links to Amazon and Text Link Ads. Amazon pays 5% of every sale that is made through your site. After a few sales, the percentage goes up to a maximum of 10%. Text Link Ads pays $25 for every referral AND it pays you a monthly wage to post advertisements on your site. I have not yet started with Text Link Ads because I am trying to cut back on the ads that I have now.

Some tips about the placement of advertising on your site:

Ads that appear on the banner of your site have a much higher number of clicks than the "Skyscraper" ads, or the ones on the sides of your site.

An even better way of increasing the number of clicks your ads recieve is to fully integrate them into the text of the site. Surround your ads with words and they will get clicked more often.

Text ads generally get clicked more often than image ads. However, image ads that have flashing bright colours do get clicked quite often. This is a negative effect of the ads because it detracts from the quality of your site.

Do not choose ads that will distract the visitor on your site, such as flashing image ads or popups. Everyone hates popups and viral marketing in this way repels visitors.

If you choose to post ads, make them prominent on your site. They do not have to be the focus of the site, but do make them well positioned near the top of the page.

One very important point for those of you placing ads on your site. Don't overdo it! People looking at your site will not only be unimpressed by it if you have too many ads, they will leave quickly. You do not want to create a spam site covered with ads and links with the idea that you will be on your way to making hundreds or thousands of dollars per month. You will be counting the pennies if you overdo the ads. Place them strategically and sparingly in a manner that does not distract the visitor. When I first started this site, I put ads all over in the hopes of making lots of money quickly. This just didn't happen, because people were ignoring my site altogether when they saw my ads sprayed all over my site like mud. So I cut back on the ads and placed them more strategically and have enjoyed much more success since then.

John Chow Review: I originally got the idea of becoming a part of the Agloco program from an ingenious web site that includes every possible piece of information that you could ever need to create an excellent blog. John Chow's site is one of the few sites that have provided clear, consistent information and I have been following it from the start. He has the most Agloco members that I have ever seen, which is very impressive. With hundreds of articles to look at ranging from web site monetization to cars, this site is extremely interesting. The most intriguing feature is the complete honesty presented throughout his blog. John speaks frankly about how much he is really making on the internet and does not care about what other people think. Another link to his site provides everyday bloggers the opportunity to exchange links with a highly popular and successful site. This is recommended for anyone who wishes to make their blog more popular and well-read. As a side note, I was very surprised that John was from my hometown of Vancouver. I don't know why, but I expected him to be living in the United States for some reason. Anyways, it was a pleasant surprise and I highly recommend this site to anyone who is serious about making money on the internet.

It is absolutely essential to remember that the best traffic you can get is targeted traffic. What this means is that someone clicks on your site and wishes to visit it. While sites such as Blogexplosion can bring you thousands of visitors and can be beneficial, I have learned from experience that traffic exchange sites are not the optimal way to gain traffic. This is because these types of sites have other people just like you trying to make their blog popular by looking at other blogs and gaining points. If enough people view your blog through one of these traffic sites, then it can be beneficial in some way. The main point that I am trying to get at is link sharing. Creating reciprocal links to other sites of value is the best way to go. The people visiting your site will be interested in seeing what you have to say. After all, they clicked on the link to your site.

This gave me the novel idea to create a section on my blog for people to link to me. If you have a blog and you wish to link to mine, I will add you to my "Links" page as long as I am added to your site. Just leave me a comment with your URL specifying where my link is on your page and I will add it.

Another site that I have found which is particularly useful for those who wish to increase their traffic, advertise or even to just increase their earnings is Text Link Ads. With a purchase of $80 worth of ads, they give you $100 free. You can also make money off your site if it is accepted. They also have free tools called the "Blog Juice Calculator" and the "Text Link Ads Calculator." The Blog Juice Calculator tells you how your blog is rated on Alexa and Technorati and also how it compares to other blogs. The Text Link Ads Calculator shows you how much you could make off of your site per month based on the amount of traffic you get and the number of people that link to you. The real juicy part of the deal is if you get a paying customer to sign up, you get $25 right away. This has a high potential for serious earnings!

Hello everyone and welcome to my site. In the past month, I have made a lot of money online and this money flow has been continuing for the past few months. After experiencing this, I have decided to make a website about how the average person can make money online. This will come as a surprise to some of you but a few months ago I barely knew anything about how the internet worked. Then I saw my friends making money from various different ways and I decided to test out ALL of the different ways of making money online. I researched online for hours every day for months, figuring out many useful secrets to making money online. It is not as easy as some sites would like you to think.

It was originally designed to help people make informed decisions on how to make money online. My personal experience is that you should never have to spend anything to make money online. Sites that ask for your money so that you can quickly earn thousands of dollars are almost always scams. In fact, any site that asks for money can put you in debt quicker than anything else. There are other ways, and there is no special book that has all of the answers to make money quickly. The money is there, but you must be willing to work for it. The menu at the top of the page has methods that I have used to make money online and they are all explained in detail. I hope that this site will help some people to achieve the prosperity that I have found.

The first step is to find a web host such as Blogger, or even better a host where you can put whatever you want in it. These are not free, but you can choose to do whatever you want with them, unlike Blogger which has restrictions. In addition to that, you can make your own domain name. For example, all free domains must have the name of the provider as part of the domain name. All Blogger sites have ".blogspot" within their domain name. The advantage to not have that on your site is that it can really launch your online business by improving the number of times people visit your site. People generally visit paid domain sites more often than free ones. You can also submit your site to more social networking directories, which I talk about later. I recently found a site that pays you to surf the internet for up to 5 hours a month. How it works is there is a small toolbar that is installed at the bottom of your screen which has advertisements. These advertisements do not need to be clicked on, they just need to be turned on. They can however be turned off as well, if needed. It is such a brilliant idea, you will see many advertisements while surfing the net and you won't normally see a penny of the cash that you make for others.
Agloco is the name of the company and I am convinced that it is not a scam. It is made by the same people as AllAdvantage, which was a site based on the same idea as Agloco that paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars to its members. Some members reportedly made $20,000 from AllAdvantage. Of course, the web was not nearly as popular back then and much more money is at stake. However the real money is in referrals. On the site there is a calculator which shows how the 5 level system works. You get paid for all the people you refer, and all of those that they refer and all that they refer and so on... If the people that you have referred have alot of members and their referrals have alot of members, you can see that you will be doing very well. There is no limit to the amount of money that can be made from this site. As long as people add you, you can make more every month. The payout is in stocks and in cold, hard cash. Most people will prefer the cash, but personally I believe that stocks will pay off even better. This site is relatively new and stocks will rise in value and end up selling for much more than they were worth when you recieved them in the mail. My advice when you receive the stocks is to hold onto them for a while as the site gains popularity, and watch your profits skyrocket. Bringing traffic to your site is one of the best ways to monetize your blog. Before I talk about the different sites which are useful to making money online, you need to understand that CONTENT IS KEY.
Find a niche that you know a lot about or that you can learn about. It could be about anything, but the point is that it must be informative, accurate, and full of useful information. Provide links to other sites and let them link to you. This is the first step to success.
We all know that without excellent information on the topic of your choice, nobody will return to your site or even spend time on it. You want people to learn from your site and the way to do this is to have original and interesting information. The information must be accurate, and it cannot be misleading. Have you ever clicked on a link and found that the site that shows up is not what was advertised? I sure have. When this happens, 99% of people will click on that little red box in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Don't trick people into visiting your site. In other words, don't even think of spamming to gain popularity. It will always backfire.Now you have to advertise your blog. There are many social networking sites available which post your site for free. I have placed them on the "Useful links" page of my site. This is not the only way to advertise your site. Post useful information on forums that are relevant to the topic and put your site's address on the bottom of the post. Again, do not spam. People will visit your site if it is relevant to the topic they are discussing. Tell all your friends about your site. If they like it, they will show others. Put up posters at a local institution advertising your site. There are a million ways to advertise your site for free and even more ways to advertise it if you pay (newspaper etc..). When there is a will, there is a way.

Social networking sites such as BlogExplosion have vastly improved the traffic flow to my site. These sites allow you to look at other people's blogs and recieve credits for viewing them. These credits are tokens that can be used to bring traffic to your site. BlogExplosion has a 1:2 ratio, which means that for every 2 sites you visit, you recieve 1 credit. To make that even simpler, you have to visit 2 sites for 1 person to view yours. It isn't the best ratio around, but what makes this site so appealing is its professional appearance and the games available. There is a game called Blog Tycoon and you are able to win up to 7000 credits through this game. I have tried and lost twice, however. The second game that appeals to me is called Scratch Cards. At first, I had my doubts about it and I thought that Scratch Cards was a scam where you could only win less than 10 credits. I kept playing however, and after about 100 games I managed to win 1000 credits, the maximum possible! You can buy 1000 credits on the site for about $5 too. I have put the maximum amount of credits on my site and I get about 10-15 visitors a day from it. You can also make money from referrals. However, don't take the referrals too seriously on this site because I have had 5 referrals for about 2 weeks and I have only made about 10 points from them.

Text link ads are another great way to make money online. All you have to do is write a description and a title for your site and you pay per click. One site which offers $100 for free to start isText Link Ads.

Adsense attracts people from everywhere in the world to your blog. All you have to do is submit your site to Google and it is reviewed. If it is accepted, it will place contextual ads linking to products that are similar to the topic of your blog. Each time a reader clicks a link, the advertiser pays Google a small fee, and Google gives you the rest. But how can you really make money with Adsense ?

Always follow the Adsense rules. If you break them, you could be banned for life.

Do not modify the Google Adsense HTML code.

Do not trick people into clicking your ads in any way. Do not ask friends or family members to click your ads either.

Don't click on your own ads, you could be banned for this too.

Don't place ads in pop-up windows, error pages or even empty pages.

Don't start a site designed only for adsense. You will do much better if you are passionate about your topic.

Text ads are much more successful than image ads. If you need to use image ads, the banner is the best option.

The background should be the same as the blog. There should be no border, as that discourages people from clicking the ad.

Make sure that the ad unit with the highest clickthrough rate is the first instance of the ad code that appears in the HTML. Since the first ad unit is always filled before the rest, you want to make sure that ad unit is located in the best placement on your page.

Try setting the ad link URL color to a lighter shade. If your text is black, you may make the adlink as light gray.m.
